Well, it seems like we just got here and we are leaving tomorrow for Huntsville, Alabama. It was really too hot to enjoy Macon. The things to see are mostly outdoors and that would have been miserable. If it wasn't so hot, I might have popped a kayak in the lake and tried some fishing. However, the few folks I saw fishing were coming up empty handed.
This beautiful painted RV is really not suited for life in the south. The air conditioners are working hard to keep it cool. I used my laser thermometer a while ago to measure the temperature of the RV exterior and it was anywhere between 111 and 132 degrees. A white exterior is not as pretty, but would be more efficient from a cooling aspect.
Here are some pics from Lake Tobesofkee Arrowhead Park:

  1. Nice pictures Joe. Yeah the full body paint looks really good, and we almost bought one, but figured any color than white would attract heat so we settled on white over full body paint.

  3. It's been very hot all summer in SC too. Air conditioners run off and on all day. I think George will be happy to head to Kentucky to cooler climes! It's perfect weather here in CA, 70 and sunny every day :-)

  4. Hey Joe! This is Gene from work. Glad to see that everything is coming together and the adventure has started.
In relation to your comment about the painted RV vs. the heat; if you had to do it all over again, would you go with white or a lighter color?

    1. Hey Gene,
Sorry, but I haven't kept up with the comments. If I had it to do over again, yes, I would go with a lighter color. I think it would make a big difference in the heat load.
